About Me

My name is Karl Connell and I’ve been working in the trades business since 1998.  After completing my electrical apprenticeship in 2002, I worked for Mercury Engineering at Intel’s FAB 24 Manufacturing Plant in Leixlip.

In 2004, I started my own electrical contracting business, employing 2-3 people. It was profitable but never reached the heights or income I had hoped for. Unfortunately, in 2010, due to the global financial crisis, all of my clients defaulted on paying me, forcing the company out of business. Like many people in Ireland, I was left with nothing.

In 2011, with very little money, I left Ireland and moved to Australia. I worked for a couple of electrical businesses but decided to start another contracting business in 2012. Fourteen years later, it’s still thriving and turning over millions of dollars annually. We employ various staff and subcontractors, including electricians, plumbers, mechanical fitters and painters, to name a few.

Over the past 26 years, I’ve learned many valuable lessons. Knowing what not to do is probably the most importing thing I have learned on my way to scaling a startup to a multi-million dollar contracting business. These lessons are what I want to share with you and hope can help your business grow and reach its potential.

Now having returned to Ireland, I am looking forward to passing on my knowledge and helping Irish business owners move forward on their journey, so if you’re considering starting a new business venture or looking to scale your existing one, im here to help guide you. I’ll provide some necessary advice and tools to help you achieve your goals.
